Prales’ Restoration Druid UI Compilation

Update 11/30/11: I will be working on bringing this compilation up to speed again soon. In the mean time, you can download the compilation as is and use something like the Curse Client to quickly update all the addons. Things should still work fine as that’s the method I use to keep things up to date.

Consider this a BETA release of the compilation.
I will no doubt find optimizations to make based on my own findings and feedback.

About this UI Pack

Current Version: BETA-0.02

This pack is catered towards Restoration Druids. It contains configurations for Grid, Power Auras and other addons that are specifically for Restoration Druids. While you can configure this to work for other classes, I won’t presently be providing support or help with it at this time.

This is a UI compilation, I did not create any of the addons used in this package. I simply put them all together and configured them using the provided options.

UI Screenshots

Below are some screenshots I took to demonstrate some of the UI. I will be adding more soon.

Installing this Addon Pack

In order to install this addon pack, follow these steps:

  1. Download the .zip file, and unzip/extract it to a location where you can find it
  2. In the unzipped file, open the WTF folder and rename the YOUR-USERNAME folder (your Username is what you used to use to log into World of Warcraft before the Battle.net merger)
  3. In the YOUR-USERNAME folder, rename the YOUR-SERVER folder to the current server the character you are using this addon pack for is on
  4. In the YOUR-SERVER folder, rename the YOUR-CHARACTER-NAME folder
  5. Navigate to the folder containing your World of Warcraft installation
  6. Create backups of your Interface and WTF folders by copying them to a different location (don’t completely delete them or you will reset all of your display, sound and other related settings)
  7. From the addon pack file, copy and paste the Interface and WTF folders into your WoW directory, replacing any files it asks you to
  8. Launch World of Warcraft, and login
  9. At the character selection screen, click the Addons button in the lower left and insure all addons are enabled (Load Out of Date if necessary)
  10. Login in to a character, then hit Esc and click on the Options button
  11. On the left menu select Advanced, and check the UI Scale checkbox and slide it all the way to the left (so it’s as low as possible)
  12. If some addons aren’t displaying properly, go into their options and find Profiles. Make sure you have the correct one selected (usually they’re called Prales UI)
  13. If you continue to experience problems, send me an email at prales(at)balancedundergrowth.info, or leave a comment here

  2. blix900

Actually, there is no profile that I can import for any of the addons so it comes default.

  3. blix900

Would be nice to get this updated to 4.2

I’ve been playing for a while as a kind of ‘healing, balance mix’ druid which i used to level my character, im now ready to become a full fledged resto and have used your guide to set up my dual spec. Im only at 82 and have not really experienced a lot of dungeons/raids, I need to practice with the setup, however from the screen shots i see a lot of buttons that I dont understand, could you maybe shed some light? i know i sound like a noob but i focused more on questing and never felt that my character was good enough for dungeons/raids, thanks for your help

I normally play at 1920×1200, however, I’ve been playing on a smaller monitor with a lower resolution due to my monitor burning out. That may have something to do with it.

Is it the chat frame that’s over lapping things? That’s the one thing I don’t know how to force to move.

I also had a problem during my testing where Grid would be in a different position. I couldn’t recreate that problem reliably to fix it, it just happened once in awhile when I would load up the UI from a fresh “install” (trying to mimic what someone who just downloaded it would do for the first time).

If it’s something else, I may be able to help. Or, I can at least try to, I make no promises :)

  6. Dylo

What resolution do you use, I have a problem with mine overlapping, but I have a very big screen, so the resolution is probably a lot wider than yours.

  7. @J.Brown

I originally wanted to host it at Cure and Wowinterface. I quickly found out that Curse no longer supports UI compilations, and that Wowinterface is a pain to get them listed (or at least I couldn’t figure out how after an hour of looking).

It was a bit of a quick fix, and I only have 90 days to host it there anyway. So I’ll try to come up with something better!

I just downloaded this file… what a huge pain in the ass that was. Couldn’t you find a better place that that?
    ;-)

    This looks really nice.

Have you ever used any mouseover addons like Clique with Grid? I have the Logitech G700 which gives me a TON of extra mouse buttons. I heal exclusively with the mouse over functionality built into VuhDo.

I will try to play around with adding clique to your setup, but I am not very familiar with Grid, so I will likely fail :D

AMASING !!!. shud be mandatory for all druids to use this :P !!!
