A Farewell to (Permanent) Tree of Life Form, Patch 4.0

If you’re a resto druid, you probably already know that when we log onto the servers today, you’ll no longer have Tree of Life as a permanent form. Instead it will now be a cooldown ability. To help recognize this change, a player on my server organized a get-together for all the trees on Arygos. I, of course, couldn’t resist being in attendance. We basically hung out in the middle of Dalaran, did a little march, then hung out some more doing druid things (like Tranquility). Non-druids were encouraged to bring their Teldrassil Sproutlings, and much fun was had by all. It was certainly a fitting way for the permanent form to be retired, even if in the grand scheme of things it was a small gathering.

Below are a handful of pictures I took during the little event (in all it actually lasted several hours).

On a personal note, while I like the change to Tree of Life form from a game mechanic stand point, I will miss it quite a bit. As someone who played as a tree since it was implemented in the big “before TBC patch”, I always felt the form was something that set me apart from most everyone else cosmetically. At least when I get nostalgic, I can always just pop my cooldown.

    Wow Prales!! This is very much appreciated and amazing! I did do some fraps videos, I need to convert them and put them up on youtube… I’ll be doing that later this week.
    Thank you so much for coming! This is my favorite thing about this game – the adorable trees! I will miss them!
