Character Updates
First of all, is the blue post that related to Insane in the Membrane, which was good news for me despite the fact I was so close to Shen’dralar exalted already. It put me at ease knowing Blizzard is acknowledging this Feat of Strength more seriously.
It’s a question you’ve been asking us for a little while now. And, based on all the posts, emails, petitions, and letters we received following the announcement that the Insane in the Membrane achievement would no longer be in available in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, we started to wonder if maybe we had gone a bit loco.
So, we went back to the drawing board. After carefully reviewing all the feedback and discussing the matter amongst ourselves, we’re now happy to report that we will be making the following changes to the Feat of Strength:
This will ensure that players will still be able to attain Insane in the Membrane and “The Insane” title in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Please note, however, that these changes will not take effect until The Shattering in patch 4.0.3a — excluding the separate “Exalted with Shen’dralar” feat, which will be introduced in a future, but currently-undetermined patch.
And, of course, those who are already Insane in the Membrane will retain their title and current Feat of Strength. Shine on, you crazy diamonds.
If you’re like most people whom I’ve told about getting Shen’dralar exalted, you probably want to tell me that Shen’dralar will no longer be required for Insane in the Membrane once Cataclysm (or I assume 4.0.3a) is released. While you would be more than correct, I was so close to being done with Shen’dralar when the announcement was made (all I needed was 20 or so Skins of Shadow and Abomination Stitchings, and maybe ten more Pristine Black Diamonds), that I couldn’t just quit. Plus, as far as I was concerned, the hard part was over. The hard part for me being parting with all the gold that I did to power through this reputation (about 40k). Blizzard also said they would be adding some other Feat of Strength for people who are exalted with Shen’dralar, and it counts for another exalted reputation that most people won’t bother getting (putting me ahead of the game for future reputation achievements).
Getting the materials for all 84 turn ins was a lot of grinding I was prepared for. What I wasn’t prepared for with Shen’dralar was turning in the librams. Just turning in the librams alone took me four hours (that’s with using my Argent Gruntling twice for a mailbox). Thankfully it’s all over, and I’m exalted. Which means I never have to do any of it again!
Blizzard acknowledging this Feat of Strength, and the fact that people still want to complete it, has put me a little at ease. It doesn’t mean I’m going to slow down any, but it does mean that instead of moving onto Ravenholdt as I originally planned, I’m going to take the time to get my Goblin reputations back up to exalted. Again, the reason being is it’s three more exalted reputations.
As of this post my reputations are as follows:
I plan on having Goblin reputations completed this week, so I can get going on killing Syndicate mobs and then get a rogue leveled before Cataclysm. Which will put me in a nice spot to get Insane in the Membrane finished once I’m 85 at the latest.
@Darjan
With The Shattering (patch 4.0.3a), the quests and librams that were used to increase Shen’dralar reputation were removed (and by quests I mean the ones you picked up that allowed you to turn in the librams). The reputation still exists in the sense that it’s in the reputation tab, and if you have it at exalted it will count towards your exalted reputation total. The Feat of Strength for having the faction at exalted is being provided as a “reward” for the people who did the grind to get Insane in the Membrane before 4.0.3a.
So you are correct, you no longer have to worry about Shen’dralar reputation because there is no way to raise it.
Hopefully that helps clear some things up!

So after Cata comes out, will we be able to turn in the same things to get our rep up for shendralar? I am confused when they say its going to be a feat of strength and also it is going away as a faction. If it is going away as a faction, then you dont have to worry about it because you cant possibly turn stuff in for a faction that doesnt exist? Am i right?
