FAQ and Short Information

For people that don’t want to read paragraphs to find info, I decided to make a sort of FAQ section with shorter answers.

Q: How did you pick the name for this blog?
A: I had the word Undergrowth picked out from the start, since it was a word that I didn’t find any blogs associated with already. Though I knew that I wanted something more than that, especially since I regularly play as Balance in addition to Restoration. So I went on WoWWiki and just started reading the different druid pages. Needless to say, when I got to the Balance section it just kind of clicked on in my head.

Q: Why did you start this blog?
A: I started this blog to give myself a place to share all of my random thoughts about WoW news, class changes, and things of the like. I also wanted a place to share all the number crunching I do for gear, or to give my opinion on the latest druid things. My hope is that someone out there will find the things I do useful.

Q: Who are your characters on WoW? What server are you on?
A: I’m currently on Arygos-US, and I have a lot of characters I no longer play, but some of the current ones are:
Prales – Restoration/Balance Druid
Dorval – Combat Rogue

Q: What raid content have you cleared?
A: The short answer is almost all of it (well, I finished up the Vanilla stuff after the fact, but you can find out more about that below).
Vanilla: Up to Garr in MC, Up to Arlokk in ZG, Kurinaxx and Rajaxx in AQ20

Burning Crusade: KZ/ZA(plus bear mount)/GRU/MAG/SSC/TK/MTH/BT/Kalecgos pre-nerf, and remainder of SWP post nerf.

About the Author & the Blog, “In Game”

I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since August of 2005, and while I started off with a Warrior and a Rogue in my early days, it didn’t take me long to settle into my druid (Prales – Arygos US). My druid now has over 500 days /played, and I have no plans on switching mains any time soon. If for no other reason than all of the achievements I’ve amassed over the years. Even with achievements aside, I still haven’t rolled an alt that’s given me as much enjoyment as healing on my druid has. I also like knowing that any role in the game is at my finger tips. While I haven’t done much with tanking or melee DPSing, it’s still nice to know the options are there without needing to level an alt.

I’ve raided since the Molten Core days, where I was the GM of my own guild. Since I was still a huge noob, my guild didn’t get very far in Vanilla content (up to Gar in MC, Arlokk in ZG, and a couple bosses in AQ20). With the release of The Burning Crusade, and the later release of achievements, I’ve made it my goal to down every piece of content and get as many achievements as I can. So far, that’s been a pretty successive endeavor. I downed all content during The Burning Crusade, which gave me a huge feeling of accomplishment. I tend to have OCD when it comes to “completing” things, and video games are no exception. So to feel like I “completed” that expansion was the perfect thing for me.

In The Wrath of the Lich King, I’m very close to replicating that feeling. The only content I have yet to down are 10 bosses in 25-man Heroic Icecrown Citadel, and The Lich King in 25-man Normal Icecrown Citadel. I also have a few raid achievements I still need to clean up before Cataclysm, but I’m not expecting those to be too big of a problem. Currently I’m between guilds, but once I sort that situation out I’ll get it updated here.

The reason I made this blog is because I spend a lot of time crunching numbers and doing research. So after years of just sharing my findings with one or two druids on a guild website, I decided to start sharing it with everyone. While I can’t promise I’m going to break any new and exciting WoW news, I will do my best to give you the new stuff with my (hopefully unique) view tagged on.

About the Author, “In Real Life”

Now for the “in real life” stuff. My name is Preston Dvorak, and I’m a 21 year old web designer and business owner. I own a web design network and freelance design service (http://www.dvorakdesigns.com). While it’s not a huge business (yet) it’s definitely picking up, and part of the reason I made this blog was to help boost my portfolio some more. I’m also a college graduate with an A.A.S. Degree in Graphic Design from the Minneapolis Business College. I won’t get into too many details here, but if you want to know more you can add me on Facebook or Twitter.

When I’m not working on things for my business, or updating my blogs, I’m probably playing WoW (I know, I can’t shut off my nerd-ness…it just never stops). Though I do make it a point to get out of the house on a regular basis, and I enjoy doing yard work, gardening, and landscaping. I also sprinkle in trips to visit my wonderful girlfriend in Kansas, which is quite a bit of fun (as I’m sure you can imagine).

It’s probably a bad thing when your about section for WoW is longer than your about section for your life…but lets face it, you’re probably here for the WoW stuff anyway!
